It was in the early Spring of 2004... Agnes, a good friend's friend, visited New York as one of the stops during her around-the-world tour.
During our dinner Agnes talked about her obssession with Tango and she mentioned many of her Tango friends from Taiwan will be in Argentina for a month. I still don't know where I got the idea but when she told me I could join them I actually told her I would think about it :p
At that time the image I associated with Tango was ballroom dancing with flashy Latin custom, heavy make-up and a rose in the mouth :) And the Tango scene from the Scent of Woman kept playing in my mind - with all eyes on him the blind Al Pacino leading this beautiful girl dancing Tango across the dance floor...
Just the fact that I never visited South America, I found myself a good enough reason to go to Argentina. In addition, I was really curious what the hell Tango is all about... why these crazy people from Taiwan gave up their high-paid job and flew across the globe just to dance???
The next morning I went to the bookstore and picked up a tour book about BsAs, submitted my vacation request, booked my ticket online. The next thing I knew I was on my AA flight to BsAs :-)
謝謝你,一切仍在建構中!
